2019 AFCON Qualifier: Libyan Federation Announcement New Venue For Libya Vs Nigeria

The 2019 AFCON Qualifier between Libya and Nigeria will no longer be held at Omar Hamadi Stadium in Algeria.

As per Libyan newspaper, Alwasat, the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has decided that the return leg with the Super Eagles will be held in Tunisia, a game which corresponds to matchday four of the AFCON qualifiers fixtures in Group E.

Libya coach Adel Amrouche had earlier requested that the crucial qualifier against Nigeria should be played in Algeria and not Tunis because the Belgian-Algerian wanted the Algerian fans to support the Mediterranean Knights but the Libyan Federation has finally discarded his request.

The NFF have not yet announced a venue for the matchday three tie with the Libyans but Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, Stephen Keshi Stadium and Enyimba International Stadium are the stadiums being considered.

After two games in Group E of the AFCON qualifiers, Nigeria trail Libya and South Africa by one point.
