2019 AFCON qualifiers: Libya Captain banned From Playing Return Leg Against Nigeria

AFCON 2019 Qualifiers: Libya Coach Names 22-Man Squad Against Super Eagles

Libya goalkeeper Muhammad Nashnoush has been banned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) from playing against Nigeria in Tuesday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the two countries.

Nashnoush received an automatic one-match ban after picking up a booking in the fifth minute of the matchday three fixture against Nigeria in Uyo last Saturday.

The Mediterranean Knights’ captain is one of the North Africans’ most important players and was in goal when they won the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa.

The Al-Ahly Tripoli star has gone the distance in all the games played by Libya in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

Wilfred Ndidi, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, and Kelechi Iheanacho are the Super Eagles players that have been yellow carded in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

The Super Eagles players and officials boarded a flight to the Tunisian city of Sfax on Monday morning.
