24 Hours After Thiago, Liverpool’s $80m Second Blockbuster Signing Is Ready

Liverpool are set to announce a second big-name arrival just hours after sealing a huge move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Wolves forward Diogo Jota, 23, is set to move to Anfield after the clubs agreed a £41m ($A73m) deal rising to £45m ($A80m) with add-ons.

As per Sky Sports, the Portuguese forward is set for a medical at Liverpool on Saturday (today) before the deal is finalised.

Helping Jurgen Klopp’s side afford the move is the sale of 18-year-old Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever.

He will head to Wolves in a deal worth £10m ($A18m), plus add-ons that could see it rise to £13.5m ($A24m)

The teen joined Merseyside from Ajax two years ago and has made four senior appearances for the side, but will now depart permanently to Wolves.

Despite being one of the finest midfielders in the world, it only cost the Reds £20 million ($A35m) plus £5 million ($A9m) in add-ons to secure Thiago’s signature.
