Guingamp Desire Oparanozie’s 40-yard wonderful goal was voted the goal f the week in the French Women League, GoalBall can report.
Despite being left out of the national team, former Nigeria’s Super Falcons captain, Desire Oparanozie continued to make headlines in the French women league.
The Super Falcons striker has been out of the national team since their ouster from the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup in France despite being the captain to the competition.
She was on Monday announced the winner for the goal of the week following her long-range strike against Paris FC.
The power playing attacker scored the winner for Guingamp with a 40-yards wonderful strike in the 92nd-minute after Louise Fleury had put the home team ahead for a 2-0 win against Paris FC.
Oparanozie scored 48% of the vote cast to beat other contenders which include Olympique Marseille’s Saki Kumagai who got 35%, Bordeaux’s Khadija Shaw bagged 13% while Marina Makanza of FC Fleury 91, got three per cent of the votes cast.
