AFCON 2019: South Africa's Goalless Draw Throws Group E Open

With the Libya versus Nigeria match in Sfax In Tunisia ending 2-3, the goalless draw posted by South Africa against a resilient Seychelles side in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification Group E match at the Stade Linite in Victoria, Seychelles, earlier in the day may have thrown the tickets in the group wide open.

The draw saw the Pirates of Seychelles remain bottom on the group standings, while Bafana Bafana of South Africa are still top pending the outcome of the other match between Libya and Nigeria.

With the Super Eagles victory against Libya in Tunisia, it takes Nigeria to the top of the log with nine points while the Mediterranean Knights are now third. It thus means that all the three teams are in the position to grab the two slot in the group.

A possible win at home for Libya in the last group match against South Africa may edge South Africa out considering the fact that they have a tough home duel against Nigeria in November while coast seems to be clear for Super Eagles to get the vital home win against Seychelles in the last group match.
