The Africa XI squad have arrived at Cobham following a thorough selection process alongside Shield and Rexona, Chelsea’s official personal care partners.
The youngsters, who are part of the African XI squad, come from Ghana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe and came through a series of trials earlier this summer to win a trip to Stamford Bridge and play against a team featuring Chelsea legends during their stay in London.
The squad touched down at the capital on Wednesday, welcomed to Stamford Bridge with personalized shirt presentations and individual training kit. A FIFA 18 competition followed, played in the dugouts at the Bridge.
Thursday brought the Africa 11’s first Cobham visit, with sessions at the training ground taken by Chelsea Foundation coaches to make their final arrangements before the big match. They also met David Luiz, Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante, who offered them priceless advice before the big game against the former Blues.
Tomorrow they will be playing a team coached by Eddie Newton, featuring former Blues Michael Essien, Celestine Babayaro and Dennis Wise.
How will the players handle the pressure when it matters most on the pitch? You can find out on the official Chelsea website soon.
