Alex Iwobi has been rated the best ball dribbling player for Arsenal after a survey hinted that the Gunners may need another winger to support the Super Eagles midfielder on the flanks as the January transfer window draws nearer.
According to statistics released by Squawka, Iwobi is the only Arsenal player to average above 1.5 dribbles per game, with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin coming behind with an average of 0.9 and 0.4 dribbles, respectively.
“Alex Iwobi is the only Arsenal player to average more than 1.5 successful take-ons per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season. They are desperate for another winger,” Squawka said.
The statistics further show that Arsenal boss Unai Emery was right to have stuck with Iwobi in the summer despite many criticizing his pattern of play and the Nigerian showing more consistency this season under the Spanish coach.
The 22-year-old has featured in 20 games for Arsenal this season, starting 14 as the Gunners went on an amazing club record 22 games unbeaten streak across all competitions which was only halted last weekend by Southampton.
