Alex Iwobi to Sign new Arsenal contract

Alex Iwobi has edged closer to penning a new deal with Arsenal.

The Arsenal forward came through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium and has made 98 senior appearances for the club in all competitions.

Recent reports from Italy had alleged that new boss Unai Emery was planning to make Iwobi available for transfer amid interest from Serie A giants Lazio and AC Milan.

According to The Mirror, however, the 22-year-old is very much in the Spaniard’s plans and is being offered a new contract by the Gunners hierarchy which runs until 2022.

Iwobi’s existing contract, signed in 2015 will expire in 2020.
