Arsenal fans are unhappy as Manchester United fans compare Odion Ighalo’s start to life in England with that of Gunner’s forward Alexandre Lacazette, Daily Star reports.
While Lacazette has found the back of the net just once this calendar year, Ighalo who joined United on deadline day in January 2020 has three goals to his credit already.
The Nigerian got a brace for Ole Gunnar Solksjare’s side to cruise to the quarterfinal of the FA Cup by defeating Derby County 3-0.
Ighalo showed class and composure when he slotted the ball him in the 41st minute before smashing the ball into the roof of the net in the 70th minute to the delight of United fans.
The 30-year-old Ighalo has now scored three goals in his first six appearances for United in all competitions and that did not go well with some Arsenal fans.
Gunner’s striker Lacazette has only managed one goal in 2020 and that was in their 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in February.
This fact hit Gunners fans on Twitter hard. “Even Ighalo’s better than Lacazette,” one supporter said. Another commented: “Ighalo’s doing what Arsenal fans think Lacazette is.”
While a third could not contain their emotions. “I’m crying,” they said, while another one wrote: “No joke, Ighalo is actually better than Lacazette.”
But United fans had a brilliant response. “Someone tell Lacazette to come outside,” they said. “Uncle Ighalo just wants to talk,” another said.
A third sarcastically wrote: “The face Ighalo hasn’t already got more goals than Lacazette this season is embarrassing.”
