Report: Arsenal Make First Bid For Potential Aubameyang Backup

Arsenal’s bid of £6.1 million has been rejected by Lorient for striker Alexis Claude-Maurice.

The Gunners identified the forward as a potential Matteo Guendouzi-style bargain this summer.

The France U20 international is hot property after scoring 14 goals in 2018/19.

According to The Sun, the Gunners may need to fork out closer to £9 million to the starlet sign, who was recently pictured with his former teammate Guendouzi which fuelled speculation that a transfer will be completed this summer.

GFFN claim that a move to the Emirate is something Claude-Maurice ‘desperately wants’, suggesting the north London club could be in a strong position.

Claude-Maurice has thrilling potential and his arrival at the Emirates Stadium this summer could please Gooners after the start made by Guendouzi.

A backup for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be seen in Claude-Maurice who operates in the same kind of positions as the French youngster.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery needs to be shrewd this summer as it seems the club won’t have much cash to splash.
