Unai Emery has said that Arsenal's pre-season training camp in Singapore is the perfect environment for Mesut Ozil to escape the fallout from his international retirement.
Ozil revealed his decision to quit Germany's national side on Sunday, a day before he was due to report back for training with the Gunners.
Having returned to training on Friday, the 92-cap star jetted out with the rest of Arsenal's squad to south-east Asia for the prestige International Champions Cup friendlies against Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
“We want to make him feel free. He feels good and has normality with us.
“For Ozil it's one thing in the national team and another thing with us.
“It's a personal decision. Here I want to help him and everybody in the club is thinking like me, to help him feel happy and to express his quality with us.
“For us, he's an important player and obviously we're going to support him and make sure he feels right to perform at his best and feels comfortable,” Emery said.
Emery says Ozil won’t feature against Atletico but could play against PSG on Saturday.
