Arteta Provides Partey Injury Update After Aston Villa Defeat

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey limped off the Villa Park turf in the 74th minute during the Gunners' 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa and was seen clutching his hamstring, raising fears he may face another spell on the sidelines.

Mikel Arteta has now confirmed the 27-year-old suffered a “muscular issue” and Willian was thrown on in search of an equaliser.

The Gunners boss added: “We had to take him off and he could not continue playing.”

Arteta now awaits an update on the severity of the injury to find out if the Ghana international can be involved in the Premier League clash with Leeds next Sunday.
