Pablo Mari Arsenal Debut

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has suggested that Pablo Mari could be in line to start the Gunners' next fixture against Newcastle on February 16.

The Spanish defender, who joined the club in January on a season-long loan from Brazilian side Flamengo, has been with the team in their training camp in Dubai.

And with David Luiz still suspended following his red card against Chelsea Mari could be in line for his Premier League debut against the Magpies.

Speaking on whether Mari and fellow new signing Cedric Soares would be ready for the game, the Gunners’ boss told the club's official website: “With Pablo maybe a little bit more than Cedric, but we have to go step by step.

‘’He is a new player and I am sure he is very excited and wants to prove everything in three days, so we have to manage him wisely.”

The Spaniard boss said he was pleased with the opportunity to work with his players during the winter break following a hectic period since he took charge of the club.
