Barca Reveal Four New Captains After Messi’s Exit

FC Barcelona have introduced their new captains after bidding Lionel Messi farewell, the football club’s press service reports.

Ronald Koeman’s side named four captains following Argentine forward Messi’s exit.

Barca’s new captain will be Spanish midfielder Sergio Busquets (Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba can also play with the senior’s armband).

Busquets, Pique and Sergi Roberto were among the vice-captains in past seasons, while Alba is the new inclusion.

Gerard Pique is the team’s vice-senior, and earlier, he was the team’s third senior player.

All four captains of Barcelona came through the club’s famed La Masia youth academy.

Messi, meanwhile has flown out of Spain on Tuesday, ahead of his free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
