Barcelona and Real Madrid are going head-to-head to seal a deal for Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer deadline.
Hope that Barcelona will be able to re-sign the player before September 2 is now dwindling with the forward set to be reintegrated back into the PSG set up by Thomas Tuchel.
Neymar wants to go back to the Camp Nou, where he will be welcomed with open arms by the players, staff and fans.
But now it looks as if the La Liga giants will need a helping hand to get the deal done.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona need the Brazillian to make a public gesture which would invite them to close the deal.
They are seeking him to state his intentions of returning to Catalonia, so they can go all out to sign him.
All parties are aware that the PSG star wants the move but stating it in the open would likely prove the catalyst for it to come to fruition in the next week or so.
It’s also believed this would encourage PSG to sanction his exit as they’re quietly confident of keeping him, as it stands.
Barcelona are concerned that the Parisians do not want to negotiate with them and would rather sell the Brazilian to Real Madrid.
The transfer window remains open till September 2 for clubs based in Spain, France, Germany and Italy.
