Benfica Confirm Tottenham’s £2.7m Harry Kane Back-Up Deal Is Done

Benfica Confirm Tottenham’s Kane Back-Up Deal

Tottenham will pay just £2.7m for Carlos Vinicius loan transfer as Benfica confirm move with £41m option to buy.

Benfica confirmed the agreement was all done and the 25-year-old, who will support main front man Harry Kane, will fly to London today to complete his medical and all the paperwork before the official announcement is made.

The North London club needed to sort out a work permit for the Brazilian striker because he has no international caps but that was sealed on Thursday.

Spurs have the option to make the transfer permanent next summer for around £41m.

Benfica said in a statement: “Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the loan of player Carlos Vinicius until the end of the 2020-21 sports season for an amount of 3 million euros.

“The said agreement, communicated at 11:56pm on Thursday, includes a purchase option clause in the amount of 45 million euros, to which, if exercised, the amount paid for the loan will be deducted.
