Brown Ideye has shown interest in returning to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner was on duty for his Greek side, Aris FC when they lost 0-1 to Volus NPS in the Greek Super League.
Erik Jendrisek 55th minute penalty was all that gave Volus NPS the home Victory.
But Ideye did not fail to display flashes of why he is a one-time Nations cup winner.
Ideye while in talks with GoalBall hinted that he has been pushing for a return to the Super Eagles under Gernot Rohr.
“I won’t mind playing once more for my country, after all, I’m still very much active in the game and doing well for my club,” the veteran said.
Rohr, on the other hand, has not given any indication whatsoever that he will be giving Ideye a call up any time soon.
Ideye was a formidable attacker up front alongside Emmanuel Emenike at the 2013 AFCON which the late Stephen Keshi led the Super Eagles to win.
