CAF Champions League: Inexperience Was Lobi Stars Problem – Paul Onobi

CAF Champions League

Paul Onobi has noted that inexperience on the part of Lobi Stars players led to their failure in advancing beyond the CAF Champions League group stage.

Speaking with brila.net, Onobi declared that most of the players of Nigeria CAF Champions League flag bearers were novices on the continent and the issue of inadequate funds must have seriously affected the team.

“I’m not surprised that they crashed out regardless of me wishing them the best while the journey lasted.

“I think it was inevitable for them to be kicked out of the competition because some had never had continental experience.

“I still give kudos to the coaching crew for still putting them together and making do with the players available.

“Remember most players left and they also had fund problems, so I think these factors affected the team but all in all I think they their best and should keep their head up as they didn’t disappoint”, the Former Lobi Stars midfielder concluded.
