Manchester United new man Edinson Cavani is set to make his debut against Newcastle after the international break.
The Uruguayan was brought in on deadline day and having not played a competitive game since February, Cavani is not match fit.
“I think I’m probably just missing that contact with my team-mates, and getting up to speed with, say, small-sided drills on the training ground and the intensity of a game itself,” the former PSG star said in a selfie video over the weekend.
“But that’s what we’re here for, to work hard, and we’re trying to do our level best so that from the moment I start training with my team-mates, I can get up to speed in as short a period as possible and be competing straight away and giving my best for the group.”
Once fit, the 33-year-old will get to link up with fellow countryman Facundo Pellistri.
And he is excited to get going with the Uruguayan.
“Pellistri is a young lad and I really love the way he plays the game,” he told the club's official website.
