Chelsea were expected to offload Marcos Alonso and Olivier Giroud on transfer deadline day, but have changed their mind.
Giroud has been constantly been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month with the veteran striker’s contract up at the end of the season.
AC Milan were said to be interested in the Frenchman, but they solved their back-up striker issue by signing Mario Mandzukic on a free.
According to The Athletic, the 34-year-old has decided he is happy to see out the rest of the season at Stamford Bridge.
He is still expected to leave at the end of the season, but won’t leave beforehand.
The same can now be said for Alonso.
Ben Chilwell’s arrival pushed the left-back down the pecking order and left him linked with an exit.
However, things apparently changed after Frank Lampard was fired.
And the decision has now apparently been made to keep him around for the rest of the season.
