Sky Sports claim that the Rams manager and Zinedine Zidane have been ‘identified as potential Maurizio Sarri Successor by senior figures at the London club.
The Italian’s future is in doubt after Chelsea crashed out of the FA Cup on Monday, which followed heavy Premier League defeats against Bournemouth and Manchester City.
As well as that, supporters chanted against the manager during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.
Lampard would be a really popular choice with the fans after his amazing career at the club, with the 40-year-old Chelsea’s all-time top goalscorer.
He is currently in his first managerial role with Derby and has the side competing for a play-off place, whilst they’ve also impressed in both cup competitions.
The former England international has attracted plaudits for the style of play he wants to adopt too, with a focus on fast, attacking football.
Chelsea will be a huge attraction for Lampard given his history and it’s surely his dream job.
