Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is desperate to secure a deadline day exit.
His agent reportedly has a private jet on standby to fly 30-year-old Smalling to Italy in a bid to complete a £12.5million deadline day switch to Roma.
The ex-Fulham centre-half has cut a frustrated figure around Carrington and looks likely to be frozen out if he does not move on before this evening's deadline.
And, according to the Daily Mail, Smalling’s agent is pulling out all the stops in a bid to make sure the transfer goes through.
Roma and United are still in discussions over the move and an agreement is yet to be struck.
But Smalling is unlikely to be recalled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meaning he has only today to secure first-team football.
And time is against Smalling as the Italian window closes at 7pm – four hours before the Premier League deadline.
