Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has reacted to Timo Werner’s inclusion in the club.
RB Leipzig star Werner, who will head to Stamford Bridge at the end of the Bundesliga, pending a medical, will join Hakim Ziyech in making the move to west London with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard already doing plenty of transfer business.
Pulisic scored the equaliser before Olivier Giroud won it for the Blues from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday and Pulisic is excited to team up with Werner next season.
Pulisic said: “We already have a really strong team with very good players.
“To add guys like that is incredible. We’re focused on this season right now but we’re also excited for what’s to come.”
Pulisic scored just five minutes after coming on at Villa Park and was praised by manager Lampard.
“He will start games for us, of course, and I think he’s going to be a big player for us, not just in this run-in but going forward,” he said.
“He was hungry. I know that and I felt for him, as I felt for the players with long-term injuries.
“The ability he’s got to arrive in the box, it’s a big thing, I’ve spoken about it with him all season.”
