Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) first vice-president, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has expressed a high level of enthusiasm over the spirit inside the Super Eagles camp, as he says Nigeria are closer to picking a ticket to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Akinwunmi, who was the head of Nigeria’s delegation to Tuesday’s reverse leg fixture against Libya in Sfax, Tunisia, said Nigeria’s 4-0 win in the first leg in Uyo further raised hope about their chances of making it to Cameroon 2019.
According to Footballlive.ng, Akinwunmi is of a view that the Eagles will now be able to play all their remaining games in a relaxed mood, but urged the players not to rest on their oars until the very last game against South Africa.
Akinwunmi, who is also chairman of Lagos State Football Association, said: “The players did a great job in Uyo on Saturday.
“All they need is step up a gear and make the road much smoother for us towards Cameroon 2019.
“We have confidence in the players that we have here, as well as the technical crew, and we believe they will do the job.”
