The Nigeria Football Federation has shorn of rumours making the rounds that its relationship with Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, is facing crisis.
This was made known by the federation’s Secretary General, Mohamed Sanusi, in a chat with Sports Yarn Class (SYC) on Tuesday.
Sanusi, said the development is the handiwork of those whose intention is to cause friction in Nigerian football.
“It’s just the imagination of people because I have heard a lot of incorrect things,” Mohammed Sanusi said.
“I am using this medium to clear the air. There is no crack between the NFF and coach Gernot Rohr.
“There is no one that went to the World Cup that is being owed a Kobo. Every players and coaches have been paid their entitlements.
“If one is being owed salaries, it is that person that should complain and not people on behalf of that person. I don’t think this is right.
“I must say that there are many people that are owed salaries and they don’t complain.
“Why is that when a coach is owed salaries at the end of the month it becomes an issue?
“Has the General Secretary been paid his salaries? I’m being owed for five months, yet am not complaining.
“There is no crack in Nigerian football. Owing a salary is not an offence. If you have an agreement with a coach on the payment of his salary and it is paid as at when due there is no problem about that. The man isn’t complaining.”
