Cristiano Ronaldo Equals John Charles 63-Year-Old Juventus Record

Cristiano Ronaldo has matched Welshman John Charles' barnstorming 1957-58 season Juventus goalscoring record that has been there in the last 63 years.

The 35-year-old bagged his 15th Serie A goal of the season in the Old Lady's 16th league game of the campaign.

Charles – who died aged 72 in 2004 – was nicknamed ‘The Gentle Giant' and scored 108 goals in 155 games in the famous black and white shirt during a five-year spell between 1957 and 1962.

Incredibly, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has achieved the feat despite only playing in 13 of the Bianconeri's games.

The Portuguese icon missed two matches after contracting coronavirus and  nearly missed out on equalling Charles' feat.

By registering double figures in the league this season in December, the former Real Madrid man made it 15 consecutive seasons of scoring ten or more league goals.
