MFM FC defeated visiting Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newly promoted side Dakada FC in a Matchday 13 clash at the Agege Township Stadium.
Up until now, Dakkada were unbeaten in six away but were brought down to earth by the Olukoya boys on Wednesday in Agege stadium.
It was a lacklustre affair as the half ended without both teams creating any scoring opportunities which saw the goalkeepers not being tested.
The match came alive early in the second half as MFM’s debutant, Nnamdi Mejuobi registered the only goal of the match with a sensational overhead kick.
Dennis Obasi had the presence of mind to locate the striker in a crowded box and Mejuobi did the rest.
Clement Ogwu came close to getting his name on the scoresheet in the 52nd minute, but he wasn’t clinical enough.
Dakkada captain, Eso Archibong’s shot from outside the area with a quarter of an hour to go almost went into net but for goalkeeper Abayomi Folarin who was alert to the threat.

MFM could have further doubled their lead through a counterattack in added time but a last-ditch clearance saved the day for Caleb Esu and his boys.
