Kevin De Bruyne was part of the Belgium squad beaten by England in the Nations League on Sunday and the Manchester City star has now left international duty early.
The 29-year-old was subbed off after 73 minutes against England with Belgium coach Roberto Martinez admitting there were concerns.
“I would not say that Kevin is injured… He said he felt something,” Martinez said.
“It is too early to know what he has, but he did not feel 100 per cent [against England]. It was rather a precautionary change.”
Man City boss Pep Guardiola will be hoping it’s nothing serious with his side set to welcome Arsenal to the Etihad on Saturday.
The Spaniard is already missing a number of attacking threats with Sergio Aguero yet to feature this season and Gabriel Jesus also out.
Guardiola had said: “We don't have Sergio, we don't have Gabriel. We have Liam [Delap]. We have many options. Cole Palmer can play as a striker too.’’
Aguero underwent knee surgery in June, missing the last few fixtures of last season though is back in training.
