Diego Simeone is reportedly set to extend his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2024.
The 50-year-old celebrates 10 years in the hotseat at Atletico at the end of this year, but his current deal runs out at the end of next season.
But it appears that a renewal is close at hand, with the Argentine even prepared to take a cut on the wage that has made him the best-paid manager in world football.
The report claims that negotiations between the two parties will continue over the coming weeks.
Atletico have a four-point lead at the top of LaLiga and two games in hand on nearest challengers Real Madrid as Simeone chases a second league title at the club.
Simeone delivered his first league title at Atleti in incredible circumstances at the Nou Camp in 2014, and also took the club to two Champions League finals in three years.

He also took Atletico to Copa del Rey success in 2013 and lifted the Europa League in 2012 and 2018.
