Etebo Takes Getafe Past Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganes

Etebo Getafe Past Omeruo’s Leganes

Getafe’ s new boy Oghenekaro Etebo made a La Liga debut that will last in fans memories as he helped his side thrash Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganes 0-3 at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Friday night.

The 24-year-old joined Getafe on a six-month loan deal from Stoke City with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season.

In his first La Liga game for  El Geta, the Super Eagles midfielder was introduced in the 31st minute for Allan Nyom who scored Getafe’s second goal.

Leandro Cabrera opened the José Bordalás’ side in the 12th minute before Allan Nyom doubled the away side’s lead in the 21st minute.

Jaime Mata sealed the three points with a perfect finish in the 33rd minute as Getafe secured the bragging rights in the South Madrid derby.

It’s the perfect start for Etebo who got a  6.6 rating on whoscored.com.

Omeruo, on the other hand, will be left disappointed after his side missed the chance to move out of relegation places.

The former Chelsea star was on for the entire duration, but could not do anything to stop the three goals his side conceded.

His Super Eagles teammate, Chidozie Awaziem was, however on the bench for the whole game.
