Femi Otedola Offers To Foot Christian Chukwu Medical Bill

Nigerian mogul Femi Otedola has offered $50,000 ‘token' to cater for the medical expenses of Ex-Nigeria coach Christian Chukwu.

According to the BBC, Otedola who according to 2016 Forbes report, was estimated to be worth $1.8 billion, has agreed to pay $50,000.

The money will enable the former Harambee Stars coach to travel to the United States to undergo a medical procedure.

The 68-year-old captained the Super Eagles to their first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980.

Chukwu was Super Eagles coach Clemens Westerhof's right-hand man when Nigeria won their second continental title in 1994.

Fondly referred to as “The Chairman”, Chukwu also coached Lebanese club Safa FC in 1997, a year before he moved to Kenya.

He also coached Nigeria at the 2014 Africa Cup of Nations where the Super Eagles finished third.

Chukwu was also hailed as one of Africa's top defenders and was a legend in Nigeria.

He led Enugu Rangers FC to victory lifting the Africa Cup Winners' Cup.
