If reports from Italy are to be believed, the Spaniard already has five targets in mind as he prepares to take over the duties of the departed Sven Mislintat at Arsenal.

Sport Mediaset reports that Monchi's target is Nicolo Zaniolo, a young Italian midfielder who has been a revelation at Roma this season.

The report adds that he could be joined at the Emirates by the Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani, who Monchi tried and failed to sign for Roma last summer.

PSG's out-of-contract Adrien Rabiot, who has not played at all in 2019, is also a target, as is the Argentina international Ever Banega – a player Unai Emery knows very well from his time at Sevilla.
