Emmanuel Eboue has allegedly been arrested on suspicion of arson. The Former Arsenal defender has been without a club since leaving Sunderland in April 2016, having failed to make a single appearance for the Black Cats.
Concerns have since developed over his wellbeing following reports of financial issues, and The Mirror now alleges that he has been taken to a police station in North London on suspicion of arson as well as malicious communications outside a home in Enfield.
A statement from Met Police reads: “Police investigating an alleged arson at a residential address in Enfield on Saturday, 30 June, arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of arson and malicious communications outside the address at around 17:00hrs on Saturday, 7 July. He was taken to a north London police station where he currently remains.”
The 35-year-old made 214 appearances for Arsenal between 2004 and 2011.
