Former Super Eagles ace Akeem Latifu has quit Norwegian club Sogndal.
The 29-year-old, who was recently named the club’s Player of the Year, had an option for another year at Sogndal but has not opted not to do so.
“Akeem is 29 years old and he wishes to play again outside Norway,” said Sogndal sports director Havard Flo.
“We thank him for all his efforts.”
Sogndal failed to make an on the spot return to the Norwegian top flight this past season after they were knocked out by Aalesund in the promotion playoffs.
Latifu, who is a Left-back and has previously played in Ukraine, Hungary and Turkey, helped young Nigeria striker Jerome Akor to settle down fast at Sogndal.
