Former Golden Eaglets star Akinjide Idowu has been signed up by Lithuanian top division club FK Palanga, according to the player.
Idowu had been searching for a new club for over a year following his departure from Moldovan club Speranța Nisporeni.
The central midfielder will link up with Lucky Omeruo, the brother of Chelsea and Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, at FK Palanga, who were promoted to the top flight in 2017 after winning the I Lyga.
Idowu started his professional career with Portland Timbers 2 in January 2016 and left the United Soccer League team in September 2016.
The 22-year-old started every single match played by the Golden Eaglets at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup aside from the semifinal which he missed owing to a yellow card suspension.
Idowu played for the Flying Eagles at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand, featuring in games against North Korea, Hungary as well as Germany.
