Sane joined City from Schalke in Guardiola’s first summer at the club and has been a vital part of their recent success.

But the 23-year-old spent much of the second half of the season on the bench and was restricted to cameo roles.

The German is keen to play on a regular basis and his talent is incontrovertible, so much so that Bayern have been linked with a £100m move for Sane.

The Sunday Times claim the City boss has ‘consented' to Bayern signing the player this summer.

Benfica’s Joao Felix is greatly on City’s radar and Sane is seen as the most attractive player for them to rid.

They also know Sane's value could drop next season as he enters the final two years of his contract.

Bayern have already made their intent known as they look to give a boost to an ageing squad at the Allianz Arena.

Sane has made 31 league appearances for the champions this term with ten of those coming off the bench.
