A total of 16-matches are still to be played in the Premier League title race, and there are still 48 points to play for, but Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has already exposed how his reaction will be if Liverpool win their first title since 1990.
City thumped Wolves 3-0 yesterday to bring down the gap between the title rivals to four points again but Guardiola is already thinking of the unthinkable.
“If Liverpool win then I will congratulate Jurgen Klopp because it will be well deserved. All we can do is win our games,” he said.
“I don't have a magic ball to discover how many points we need,” he said.
“I said to them ‘don't look at the schedule, don't watch the calendar for the Liverpool games,' forget about it.
“If that happens you lose your own games in my experience. Then it's over.
“We cannot control what Liverpool do. All we can do is be there until the end.”
