Ighalo Debut Man Utd

Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo made his much anticipated debut for Manchester United as they stunned their host, Chelsea 2-0 to complete a double over the London side this season.

Anthony Martial headed the Red Devils in front on the stroke of halftime after a sublime cross from Wanbisakka to give visitors an edge going into the break.

Former Leicester City defender, Harry Maguire made the points safe for Manchester United after he nodded home a corner poorly defended corner by Chelsea in the 66th minute.

Though Chelsea had two goals chopped off in the second half by VAR, the decisions were not in doubt as Azilicueta was judged to have fouled a Man Utd player before Kurt Zouma scored from a corner.

Substitute Olivier Giroud also scored a sublime header to give the home team a glimmer of hope, but his celebration was short-lived as VAR review showed that he was a yard offside.

Ighalo was introduced in the 91st minute for goalscorer, Anthony Martial and almost made it a perfect debut two minutes later as his shot was blocked off by the onrushing Chelsea stopper, Willy Caballero.
