I'll be very proud to win World Cup Golden Boot - Harry Kane

Harry Kane has articulated his frustration with his lack of goals in the knockout rounds of the World Cup but would, however, be “very proud” to win the Golden Boot.

The England captain remains in pole position for the award of highest goalscorer at Russia 2018 with a return of six goals.

Three of Kane's strikes came in the 6-1 win defeat of Panama, two were scored in the 2-1 win over Tunisia, and the sole goal outside of the Group G games was a spot-kick against Colombia.

“It shows we had a good group stage, scored a lot of goals,” Kane told ITV Sport. “Obviously I'm disappointed I couldn't get a goal in the last few games.

“Sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it doesn't. But if I win it, it'll be something I'll be very proud of.”

France duo Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann are presently on three goals each ahead of Sunday's final with Croatia.
