Real Madrid star James Rodriguez could soon be on his way to join Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi, as Carlo Ancelotti looks to reunite with the 28-year-old for a third time.
The Italian has a strong rapport with Rodriguez, having worked with him at the Bernebeu as well as during his time as Bayern Munich coach.
Since his return to Madrid the misfiring Colombian has failed to impress Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who does not see Rodriguez as part of his long term plans.
And, according to The Mirror, Ancelotti has identified the Colombian as the creative force that can help fire his side up the table.
It is believed that Everton’s decision to appoint Ancelotti was his strong reputation with football’s top talent.
The veteran Italian had looked to sign Rodriguez last summer when he was in charge of Napoli.
However, that deal failed to materialise and Ancelotti left his post some months later.
The 60-year-old got off to a flying start to life since his appointment as Everton boss in December, winning two of his first three Premier League games in charge.
