Jerome Boateng has crashed his Mercedes car into a motorway barrier and caused £22,000 worth of damage after returning from a hospital visit to see his sick son in the hospital.
According to German outlet Bild, the Bayern Munich defender was returning from a hospital in Leipzig, where he had been to see his son Jermar.
But as the 31-year-old drove home to Munich near Selbitz in northern Bavaria, a change in weather reportedly caused his car to go off the road.
While Boateng wasn’t speeding, he was driving with summer tyres, which meant he lost grip and smashed into barriers when attempting to switch lanes in the snow.
It is believed Boateng has caused damage worth £22,000, but he did not suffer any injuries.
