Jorginho has said that he wants to join Chelsea over Manchester City because his preference is to live in London, according to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
De Laurentiis also said that the Blues are close to finalising a deal for Maurizio Sarri to replace Antonio Conte as head coach, meaning Jorginho would be reunited with the coach under whom he has done extremely well over the past three seasons.
De Laurentiis earlier claimed Napoli had rejected an offer of £44m (€50m) from City for Jorginho.
The midfielder has played his whole career in Italy, having moved to Europe from Brazil as a young person.
Jorginho joined Napoli in January 2014 and, after conveying his yearning to play internationally for Italy, has won six senior caps.
