Jose Mourinho have been keeping tabs on RB Leipzig star Marcel Sabitzer’s situation in case Tottenham lose Tanguy Ndombele, who is on Barcelona’s radar.
Mundo Deportivo report that Mourinho recognises that the Bundesliga side could want to sell soon as Sabitzer’s value in the transfer market will only decrease with his contract expiring in 2022.
They report that he wants to make a £45m bid for the 26-year-old if Barcelona act on their interest in Tanguy Ndombele after his fine start to the season.
Sabitzer can dictate play from the middle of the pitch and has also chipped in with three goals and three assist so far this season.
The Austrian is vastly experienced with more than 200 appearances for the club to his name having joined in 2014 from Rapid Vienna.
Last year he impressed to the extent that he was named in the Champions League team of the season.
Sabitzer is a valuable member of Julian Nagelsmann’s side and Leipzig are third in the Bundesliga table, two points off leaders Bayern Munich.
