Jurgen Klopp is hoping to sign Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner in the summer.
The German forward has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
Werner is one of the most highly sought-after players in the Bundesliga, who has attracted major interest from across Europe in recent months.
Timo Werner has stalled on signing a new RB Leipzig deal recently, despite being offered in the region of £100,000-a-week.
Former Premier League star and current European football pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft believes the player will be sold in the summer, with the Liverpool boss set to make a move for the ‘perfect' signing.
“Timo Werner, RB Leipzig, would be the perfect Liverpool player,” he tweeted.
Werner spoke out about his future of late, hinting a move to Bayern Munich could be in the offing in the next few years.
“I've had a nice two and a half years at Leipzig, so they are in the picture,” Werner said after Leipzig's defeat to Bayern in December.
Speaking last year, Werner also welcomed a possible move to England.
Timo Werner has admitted he would like to play in England.
