Gareth Southgate and Jose Mourinho have been exchanging barbs over Harry Kane’s fitness and the Tottenham manager’s fears may have been realised with the forward getting crocked in training.
The 27-year-old is a serious doubt for England’s match against Belgium on Sunday.
It comes after suffering from muscle tightness towards the end of the training session late on Saturday.
But Mourinho’s biggest fears is that Kane’s fitness is now in doubt for Spurs’ clash on Sunday against West Ham.
And to make matters worse, Tottenham have had a request for the Walthamstow-born star to return to the club rejected.
Kane, as the country’s skipper, is still with the England group.
But the chances of him playing against Belgium in a Nations League match is low.
If Kane does not make it, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could step up after starring for the Three Lions against Wales.
