Former Super Eagles skipper, Nwankwo Kanu, recently visited hospitals in Owerri and Umuahia to celebrate Christmas with patients with heart problems.
During his active career, Kanu established a foundation called The Kanu Heart Foundation to help underprivileged Africans.
Kanu visited the Federal Medical Centre Owerri and Umuahia where he donated gifts and money to the patients.
Speaking with our correspondent, Kanu said he decided to do that so as to give them hope and help save them.
“I just want to make them happy because I have been in their shoes before,” he said.
“Christmas is for both the healthy and those not healthy; we need to give them hope because Christ came to the world for all of us.
“I visited them with the little I could afford at the moment and I am happy that I was able to put a smile on their faces.
