Former Manchester City star Kelechi Iheanacho has been named in a team of football flops in the year 2018 by Spain's reputable football outlet Marca following FIFA's Best XI announced on Monday during The Best Awards ceremony in London.
The team also include well-known names like Wesley Sneijder who was a contender for the FIFA Best Player of 2010; Arsenal's playmaker Mesut Ozil and Manchester United's Alexis Sanchez.
The Leicester City forward who scored the winning goal in the club’s 3-1 shootout penalty win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night was part of Nigeria's 2018 World Cup squad in Russia where the Eagles crashed out in the group stages.
The Nigeria forward scored just three league goals in 21 games in the 2017/2018 season and has had just one so far this season.
Iheanacho who was the Most Valuable Player at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup when Nigeria won the cadet title for the fourth time was in action for the senior national team when Nigeria defeated Seychelles 3-0 in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
France international of Ivorian descent Tiemoue Bakayoko was also named.
