Liverpool Vs Burnley: Klopp Gives Update On Dejan Lovren’s Fitness Ahead Of UCL Clash

Update On Dejan Lovren's Fitness

Liverpool centre back, Dejan Lovren's hopes of making his team’s return against Burnley at Anfield this Sunday are in the balance.

The former Southampton defender didn't take part in Wednesday's training session at Melwood and the clock is ticking ahead of the weekend.

Lovren hasn't featured for the Reds since limping off in the early stages of the FA Cup defeat to Wolves on January 7.

The Croatian returned to the squad and was an unused substitute against Leicester City on January 30 but then aggravated the problem in training and has been sidelined ever since.

The duo have performed well together with four successive Premier League clean sheets and that partnership looks set to continue against Burnley.

Vice-captain James Milner and Alberto Moreno were also absent from Wednesday's session at Melwood.

Jurgen Klopp revealed that Milner had been carrying a minor hamstring problem going into last weekend's Merseyside derby.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster were both involved as they look to make their comebacks following long-term injuries.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to get a run out for Liverpool Under-23s away to Derby County in Premier 2 on Friday.
