Lampard Confirms Edouard Mendy Will Debut Against Tottenham In Carabao Cup

New signing Edouard Mendy is very likely to make his debut for Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

The Blues travel to north London to take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup, and Mendy has been named in Frank Lampard’s squad for the fourth-round tie.

Mendy, 28, is expected to be Kepa’s long-term replacement following his £22million move from Ligue 1.

Fellow new signing Ben Chilwell has also been named in Lampard’s squad for the Spurs tie, and could make just his second appearance for the Blues.

“Mendy and Chilwell are in the squad for today,” Lampard said on Monday.

“They’re fit and we will see whether they start or not.”
