Chelsea are set to be without three stars for this weekend's trip to Newcastle.
According to The Athletic, attacking duo Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz will stay behind this weekend as they prepare to return.
The United States international is still thought to be two or three weeks away from making a full recovery.
Meanwhile, Havertz has been absent ever since he tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Champions League clash with Rennes.
The German international is unlikely to feature and there will also be a third notable absentee.
Thiago Silva is not due to return to England until Thursday after playing in Brazil's 2-0 win in Uruguay and the 36-year-old veteran now looks unlikely to play against the Magpies.
There is positive news for Chelsea though, after Ben Chilwell returned to England training ahead of the Nations League clash with Iceland.
He is expected to be fit though for Saturday's clash with Newcastle and is unlikely to feature tonight for England as a precaution.
